VEI has deep experience in stormwater management, with our team having designed over 90,000 linear feet (more than 17 miles) of underground storm sewer piping, ranging in size from 10 inches to 72 inches in diameter. These systems have supported a wide variety of developments, including commercial projects, single-family neighborhoods, and both private and municipal roadway improvements. In addition to underground drainage, our engineers have completed the design of large box culverts, bridge structures, and storm sewer lift stations to address complex site conditions and hydraulic needs.

Our expertise also includes the design of detention facilities for projects of all scales—from residential subdivisions to high-density commercial and industrial developments. VEI has provided stormwater storage solutions exceeding 1.1 million cubic feet, covering more than 35 acres. Our detention designs include traditional basin storage, subsurface detention beneath parking areas, and specialized systems with integrated filtration and settlement features for environmentally sensitive locations.

To help clients meet environmental and regulatory requirements during constructions, VEI develops Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and conducts on-site SWPPP inspections in accordance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) standards. With every project, VEI combines engineering precision with practical experience to deliver stormwater solutions that are both effective and compliant.
